Chetwynd Part of the BC Adventure Network. Over a million web site visitors annually !

Nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Chetwynd is the all-season recreation destination point for all types of visitors.

The beauty of the Little Prairie valley captures the hearts of residents and visitors alike. This is a land of fertile valleys, great lakes and rivers, jagged mountain ranges and snowcapped peaks. Of course, each of these areas has something to offer the outdoor enthusiast - from hiking, biking and fishing to skiing and snowmobiling. Old Baldy Hiking Trail offers a splendid view of the valley while the Chetwynd Community Forest has walking, hiking, interpretive and cross country trails. There are a number of nearby lakes that can offer excellent fishing, boating and camping. Nearby Powder King can supply downhill skiers with great runs and lots of snow.

The community itself has some unique features including fantastic chain saw sculptures of indigenous wildlife, major rodeos, aquatic centre with a wave pool and sports fields.

Whether the tourist wishes to access the spectacular valleys, mountains and lakes surrounding the town or merely take advantage of the many facilities in the town itself, Chetwynd has much to offer.
